Still looking for vacation work, or even part time work? Why not consider Structerre? Come on down for a informative presentation of what Structerre has to offer students, including their specific undergraduate training program, as well as an outline of their primary activities.
The presentation will be followed by a FREE BBQ where you can also talk to past graduates and current staff.
The UWA Expo is on again!
A great opportunity for budding engineers to see what studying at UWA and as part of the Engineering, Computing and Mathematics Faculty is all about!
The ECM Faculty presentations will be held in the Octagon Theatre, far away from our home on campus. But is is an easy walk to James Oval where lectures and students await your questions. Come into the Civil and Mechanical Building to learn about the different types of engineering...we have 17 difference disciplines this year!
Come and learn about the Beijing Water Cube on the eve of the Olympics from the man behind the design! Tristram Carfrae believes the Water Cube is a "representation of a mathematical idea" and it is as if the pool complex is "carved into an infinite geometric pattern".
The Water Cube can accomodate up to 17000 spectators, reduces sound and blocks UV radiation. The building is also energy efficient, as the walls and roof allow in light and heat to reduce power consumption.
A networking opportunity will follow the talk, with Tristram and other Arup representatives attending. Food and drink is provided.
As first years, this is your opportunity to have a light lunch and begin networking. Office Fridays give you a chance to learn how to talk about business and your degree.
Dress is smart casual - a collared shirt and no denim.
Do you have to complete reports, group assignments or your thesis? Would you like to know more about EndNote, a program that organises your references and can automatically create your bibliography?
An EndNote training session will be held in the Reid Library Training Room on the 20th of May, at 1-2pm. The venue has a capacity of only 20 people, so places are limited. If there is enough interest, a second session will be run soon afterward.
Leighton Contractors, sponsors of the 2008 Engineering Ball, are coming to campus in search of graduate and vacation students!
Come to watch an informative presentation about what Leighton has to offer, in G11, and talk one-on-one with Leighton staff behind ELT1. If you missed out on their table at GND, now is your opportunity.
Pizza and beer are provided.
