Past Sporting Events
In the sporting arena, we play a range of different sports against the other faculties at UWA. To highlight our sporting prowess we won the Combined Trophy and Goyder Cup (Male) for Inter faculty Sport in 1999 and were Runner-up in the Strickland Cup (Female). Also in 2000 we were Runner-up in all three. The only faculty to beat us was Human Movement who play sport for a living while we do it for fun. We also have the annual Rugby grudge matches against Law and Arts. There is always a large crowd, enjoying the atmosphere and free beer and singing the UEC songs to encourage the players.
Inter-department sport is also another integral part of engineering life. The UEC coordinates a football competition between Mech/Material, Civ/Enviros and Sparkies. A Touch Rugby competition is also held with each department entering a team. The Post-grad students and 1st years also enter their own teams and each team must have at least one staff member.

Grudge Match
