You may have heard about the proposed changes to the budget of the
Faculty of Engineering, Computing and Mathematics. There has been a lot
of interest from students about the changes, so the UEC, in
collaboration with other Engineering Clubs, is hosting a meeting for
students to learn more about the changes, ask questions and have your
say into what the student population does. The meeting will be attended
by Academic Staff members, Faculty Staff members and UWA Student Guild
Executive members, and all will be available to answer questions.
Aimed at penultimate year ECM students, the graduate networking dinner is a great opportunity to meet with potential employers. As well as gaining an understanding of the sort of work they are involved with and the sort of qualities they will be looking for in their graduates.
Applications for the Barry Armour Memorial Award close on September 17th at COB (5pm). For more details please visit:
The Vacation Work Expo is here again!
Don’t miss out on this opportunity to meet and greet some engineers and HR representatives from prospective companies and find out about their vacation work programs. Being a tough year to secure vacation work due to the current economic crisis, this event might just help you get you foot in the door.
The following companies have signed up so far:
Anyone interested in vacation work or graduate work for 2009 should come down to the Leighton Contractors Pizza Sundowner! This is a casual networking event held on the lawn behind ELT1 where you can talk staff and recent graduates while enjoying a few beers and some pizza.
On Friday 29st August 2008 the School of Environmental Systems Engineering will be hosting the First Year Engineers Office Friday from noon to 2pm. This is a networking event where first year students can meet with academics from the school, older students and local members of industry. It is your chance to find out if you want to study environmental engineering; water resources engineering or ocean systems engineering!
As first years, this is your opportunity to have a light lunch and begin networking. Office Fridays give you a chance to learn how to talk about business and your degree.
Dress is smart casual - a collared shirt and no denim.
Still looking for vacation work, or even part time work? Why not consider Structerre? Come on down for a informative presentation of what Structerre has to offer students, including their specific undergraduate training program, as well as an outline of their primary activities.
The presentation will be followed by a FREE BBQ where you can also talk to past graduates and current staff.
