We can all feel it. The End is nigh.

As one chapter comes to a close another opens SUMMER! To celebrate the time of year that it is and to try and help you forget everything you learnt this year the lads and ladettes from SOBER? UEC and ECOMS have got together for the first time to throw a huge Tri-Club event!!!

With inflation fighting drink prices, summer dresses (thats you ladies) and muscle clad men in chesty singlets and sexy t's (thats you gents) it will be an unforgetable night depending on how you look at it. Chuck into the mix some commerce students, some engines and a whole lot of party goers we will rock the Red Sea like never before!!!

Celebrate the end of thesis and final year will a night among your peers! This year we have moved the dinner on campus for everyone's convenience. The faculty and UEC have kindly subsidised tickets to a low cost of $60 for a three course meal and drinks, all inclusive.

Those completing university mid 2008, end 2008 and mid 2009 are eligible for the subsidy, all guests are required to pay the full price of $80. Dress is cocktail. Tickets are on sale now from outside the common room between 1-2pm daily!

 

The Guild (Cruikshank Routley Memorial) Ball is back again to round off a fantastic year on campus. Tickets are $75 for Gold guild members and $85 for everyone else. For more informaiton visit the Guild website.

The annual Quiz Night is coming, proudly sponsored by Monadelphous! Enjoy a good game of Chicks Footy and Guys Rugby in the Eng vs. Law annual sporting bout, then head on down to the tav for a good night of brain teasers. The Monadelphous Quiz Night has been completely revamped, we are excited and you should be too!

Details are easy:

• Tables of 6 - be in costume to win!
• Beat everyone else in a few rounds and your table wins stuff!
• Beat everyone else in individual mini-games and YOU win stuff!
• Come, do nothing, and you can still win...how good is that!

Tickets go on sale from Monday 22nd September, 1-2pm outside the common room. Tickets are $5.

Grudge Match is coming. That glorious time of the year when we get to show the lawyers who is the greatest faculty by defeating them in them in the sporting arena with the chicks playing footy and the guys playing rugby.

Meet outside the common room at 12pm and join the army of yellow as we march down to Nedlands Rugby Club to do battle with the lawyers.

The 2008 AGM will cover:

• Nominations for 2009 UEC committee
• Proposed constitutional changes
• Summary of UEC achievements in 2008; and
• Presentation of the Barry Armour award

The AGM will be followed by a FREE BBQ and raffle.

To be eligible to nominate, vote or propose a constitutional change you must be an ordinary member of the UEC.  Membership is free so make sure you signup before the AGM.  Click here to signup.  If you are unsure whether you are a member, please signup anyway, as the system will tell you if you have already signed up.  Signups received after the AGM shall be ineligible to vote.

Feeling tired and overworked? Come and wind down with other 1st / 2nd years at the Universal Bar, on Thursday 9th Oct from 7-10pm. For a $5 ticket you will be treated to first class canapaes and some drinks.

Dress is smart casual and ID is required. As usual, tickets are sold outside the common room from 1-2pm daily.

Anyone interested in vacation work or graduate work for 2009 should come down to the Leighton Contractors Pizza Sundowner! This is a casual networking event held on the lawn behind ELT1 where you can talk staff and recent graduates while enjoying a few beers and some pizza.

Come to the weekly UEC BBQ on Friday 26th September and you can have a free sausage if you wear your 2008 UEC Shirt.

Softdrink and extra sausages are the usual price of $1.
