You now have the opportunity to decide who will represent you at a Faculty and School level. Do not miss out on this opportunity. If the best person for the job is not elected it will be the student body who suffers through a lack of representation, services and events. The UEC endeavours to represent all students in the ECM Faculty and this is only possible if the committee consists of a diverse range of enthusiastic and proactive students.
Voting will take place at the following places/dates:
The nominees for each position are listed below.
PRESIDENT
ROBERT PRAST
Penultimate/Other year student
Civil Engineering student
I believe that as far as a Faculty Society goes the UEC is easily the best on campus. Not only do we provide key representation to students on matters of education and wellbeing but we have one of the most active social calendars on campus.
2010 is going to be a challenging year for the UEC however I am confident that under my leadership we can continue to stay on target and keep moving forward in a positive direction for the future. I have made every effort to involve myself with all aspects of the UEC, from sitting on educational committees to helping organise social events and I believe that it is the diversity of my skills that make me the best candidate for President in 2010.
My hard working attitude, organisation and excellent people skills are perfectly suited to the role of President. More important is my motivation to do what is right for the club, motivation stemming from my love for the UEC, the opportunities it provides students and the people who it comprises of.
Throughout my involvement with the UEC I have proven that I am more than capable of dealing with the faculty to get results for students. Not only have I worked hard to represent fellow Engineers but I have supported and attended every social event that the UEC has run this year.
In 2010 not only will I strive to continue to represent the UEC but I will do everything I can to ensure that we continue to have as much fun as ever.

Although I haven't been formally involved with UEC this year, I have dedicated much of my time to helping the amazing faculty society that this is, in a number of different ways, whether helping to organise, set up or pack away events, I've been more than happy to help. This is why, next year I'd like to have a more formal role in keeping the success the club has had in previous years going. Through my time at UWA Ultimate club this year, and on many committees in the past, I feel like I have what it takes to manage such a large club well, which is why I am nominating for secretary for 2010.
Mechanical, Oil and Gas and Materials Representative:
The standard of education we receive while studying at UWA is first class, however, we should never stop striving to increase it. This is why I would like to be involved as the mechanical engineering representative for 2010, as I have a passion for increasing the standard of our education, but also representing every mechanical engineering student at UWA, making sure they are granted a far go in assignments, tests and exams. I have been thoroughly involved with the faculty for two years, and would love the opportunity to give back to the university that does so much for its students.

I would like to nominate myself for this position because I believe that student input in to how their degree is run is very important. Careers events are very important and I would work towards more being provided, and improving other events such as office Friday for first years. Civil Engineering is such a broad discipline, and most people dont realise this until further into their degree.
BEAU MAVRIC
Penultimate/Other year student
Civil Engineering student
As I approach the end of my second year of studying Civil Engineering, I have developed a great insight and affinity with the school and with it a passion for what I study. I also want to see the standards of the school improve and see this committee position as a great opportunity where I can have an active input into the running of the school. In my experience, I believe the important issues facing undergraduates studying Civil Engineering relate to educational matters and consequently see this position as an opportunity to represent the interests of the student body on aspects of student life that most adversely affects them. I exhibit strong organisational skills and have great confidence that I will be able to fulfil all of the role requirements with competence.

Being an international postgraduate student, I think its my duty to contribute towards the betterment of International students. There are many cultural difficulties and dilemma which are faced by the students so they are not able to come out of their shell. Their hidden talents often remain hidden. Being in computer science, I have seen the students having problems due to their lack of communication skills and other reasons. As a education representative for computer science, I would like to contribute by increasing their participation in various activities and motivating them to contribute towards UWA in various ways.

I held the position of THEBSE when I started on the UEC Committee in 2006. I have since spent 3 years on the UEC Executive where I have learnt a lot from the Club. I now wish to go full circle and return to THEBSE for my final year. I know how to fulfil the requirements of the role and believe I have the time and skills required to do so. The UEC has been an instrumental part of my university life and I believe the role of THEBSE would be a great way to say goodbye to an institution that I will greatly miss upon entering the real world.
