The National Tertiary Education Industry Union (NTEU) is currently running their Our Universities Matter campaign. The way universities are run and how their staff are treated does impact our education. NTEU seeks the support of staff, universities and the wider community in campaigning for real change to tertiary education in Australia. The campaign aims include:

• Achieving higher levels of government funding;
• Protecting university independence and freedom of enquiry;
• Controls on excessive workloads, better job security and a competetive pay rise for university staff; and
• Affordable education and improved student services.
