The University Engineers' Club (UEC) is the Faculty of Engineering, Computing and Mathematical Sciences' Student Club at the University of Western Australia.
Formed in 1921, the UEC represents in excess of 2300 undergraduate students and plays an active role in organising various career, educational, social and sporting events throughout the year.
Would
you like to spend 5 days on a mountaineering trip in the Wanaka area in
New Zealand? The UEC has opened applications for this year's Barry
Armour Award, which involves exactly that. The award goes to a
final/penultimate year student enrolled in the Faculty of Engineering,
Computing and Mathematics that actively participates in all aspects of
university life. The successful applicant must be fit, enthusiastic and
have a passion for nature and the outdoors. They must have a strong
history of contributions to University and Faculty events. If you think
that you fit the description, please apply to the UEC by September 22nd, 2008. An application form is attached.
The UEC is currently accepting sponsorship for 2009. If your company has not received a sponsorship package, or if you have any queries, please contact one of the following:
The benefits of becoming a 2009 sponsor include:
Photos from most of our events this year have been sorted through, and uploaded. Below is a list of event pages (in chronological order) that have been updated with photo galleries:
UEC and the ECM faculty are trying hard to find all ECM graduates, especially in preparation for the university's 100th anniversary. If you are a graduate you can provide the university with your details at www.ecm.uwa.edu.au/alumni.
In addition, the UEC is working with the faculty to create and maintain a list of all UEC Committee members, both past and present. The UEC is in the process of creating a record of everyone's name, year(s) on committee and associated position(s), while the unversity maintains a database of contact details. Later this year the UEC is organising an event for all past committee members to get together. The evening is anticipated to be in late August.
Be aware that ticket sales for the 2008 UEC Ball will finish this Wednesday, the 7th of May. There are not many tickets left, and there will be no sales at the door. Come and grab one for $85 and enjoy a classy night. Drinks and a 3 course meal are provided in the ticket price.
If you are still filling in your table form, please be aware that we need them returned by 2pm, also this Wednesday. Failure to return your form will result in you and your group of friends being randomly allocated tables.
A small batch of yellow helmets, printed with the UEC logo have arrived. They are sure to sell out fast, and we have limited numbers available. Come by the engineering common room between 1-2pm to grab one for $15. They are a must have for any social UEC event.
The UEC T-shirts have also been reduced in price. They are now $10 for a 2008 shirt, or $5 for a 2007 one.
See the merchandise page for other merchandise available.
