The University Engineers' Club (UEC) is the Faculty of Engineering, Computing and Mathematical Sciences' Student Club at the University of Western Australia.
Formed in 1921, the UEC represents in excess of 2300 undergraduate students and plays an active role in organising various career, educational, social and sporting events throughout the year.
Congratulations to the following students who have been elected onto the 2009 UEC Committee.
The UEC would like to congratulate one of its recent Alumni for being awarded the WA Young Professional Engineer of the Year by the Engineers Australia WA Division. Vaughn Grey was on the UEC committee for two years during his time as an undergraduate and once graduating, has dedicated much of his time to the WA Chapter of Engineers Without Boarders. Vaughn currently works for SKM as a Mechanical Engineer.
We wish him all the best for the nationals!
Tickets for Quiz Night are now available from the common room, 1-2pm daily. The Annual Quiz Night has been completely revamped and is being held on the 17th October.

The UEC has won Club Olympics for the first time in a few years. After years of coming "this close" we have finally cracked it!
Though not strictly sporting, the road to Club Olympics glory was long and messy. The Tug-of-War, Boat Races, individual 2L men's milk skull, individual 500ml women's milk skull and rhythmic gymnastics were worthy wins. But it seems the UEC can not drive or pedal due to poor performance in the Mario Kart Racing and three legged spoon race. Overall victory was secured with an draw for first in paint fighting, a win for the women's jelly wrestling and a second in body painting.
As a prelude to the final Interfaculty sport of the year, Athletics, the Great Run was held on Tuesday, 2nd September. Four competitors for the UEC took part and we would like to congratulate Thomas Bruins and Monique Hollick for winning the men's and women's competition!
A big thank you must go out to our other competitors for securing valuable points, Max Daube and SJ Robinson. Results of Interfaculty Sport 2008 will be released soon.
Finally, anyone who has competed in Interfaculty Sport during 2008 is invited to our Sport Windup, 10th September from 1-2pm behind ELT1. Enerflex, our sport sponsor, will also be in attendance. A FREE BBQ will be run by our wonderful Sport Reps.
